The shot above is from our own short film, and it plays once before stopping so the analysis can be laid over it. The camera figure and the palette are measured from those pixels, not estimated.
How it works
Deconstruct
Paste a video URL. We split it into shots, then read each one for camera move, lighting design, palette, blocking and framing — and write a regeneration prompt for it.
Recompose
Pick a cut and edit its sources. Keyframes are generated first and shown to you for approval; only then does the clip get made.
Score
The result is compared to the original on five axes — palette, lighting and motion by measurement, composition and identity by a vision model.
What an analysis gives you
One video, taken apart into sources you can actually reuse.
- Shot timeline
- Every cut with its in and out, shot size, and measured net camera displacement.
- Character sheets
- Recurring people, rendered as reusable reference so faces hold across cuts.
- Environment plates
- The place a scene happens in, as a clean plate you can reuse.
- Colour palette
- Swatches measured off the actual pixels, not guessed at.
- Lighting notes
- Key direction, hard or soft, contrast ratio.
- Blocking diagram
- Top-down: where people stand, where the camera is, how both move.
- Camera
- Move, shot type, and a lens estimate given as a range — never a fake exact number.
- Regeneration prompts
- The bundle that turns any of the above back into a new clip.
Measured values are computed from the pixels. Descriptive ones are written by a vision model and labelled as such — we keep the two apart on purpose, because a label that reads like a measurement but is a guess is worse than no label.
What makes this different
Everyone else hands you a reference. We hand you the recipe.
Shot libraries help you find a frame you like. That is where they stop. Cutaway reads how the frame was made, gives you those parts as something you can edit, and then rebuilds the cut so you can put the two side by side and see how close it landed.
The comparison is scored on five axes rather than as one number, because a single figure hides which part actually failed.

A regenerated cut is charged in two steps: 10 cr makes the keyframes and shows them to you, and the remaining 30 cr is only spent once you approve them. If a finished cut scores below 45 out of 100 against the original, we regenerate it once at no charge.
One more thing
Source videos are not kept. We need the original only while frames are being pulled from it; when the job ends it is deleted, and what remains is the analysis and the link you gave us.
